Heavyweight cotton, explained
What does 380 GSM actually mean, and why does it make such a difference compared to a standard t-shirt?

Look at any Legendare label and you'll see a number: 380 GSM. That stands for grams per square meter. A standard retail t-shirt sits between 150 and 180 GSM. Ours start at 380. Some pieces go up to 420 GSM. You feel that difference the moment you pick the piece up.
Why heavyweight
Heavier cotton has more hold. The fabric drapes better, wrinkles less, and stays in shape for years. Thin tees stretch out after the first wash and turn transparent. That doesn't happen with heavyweight. A 380 GSM tee feels the same after a hundred washes.
What it feels like
A heavyweight piece has a serious hand. It hangs on your body without clinging. It still breathes, provided you use good cotton. We pick Pima or long-staple cotton. Those fibers are longer, smoother and more durable than regular cotton.
The downside
Heavyweight isn't for every summer afternoon. Above 28 degrees you'd rather wear something lighter. But for fall, winter and spring it's the standard. And a heavyweight tee under a sweater drapes differently than a thin tee.
Care
Wash at 30 degrees, inside out, with similar colours. Don't bleach. Hang or lay flat to dry. Iron on medium. Treat it like premium denim: less frequent washing means longer life and better colour.
